Dawn delicate,
durable,
dreaming, bursts through the clouds
as I look back
swallowing
the last bits of a black bean breakfast bowl.
I cannot forget headlines
leaping out at me from the television,
the newspaper,
cannot disregard feeling of dread
swirl of smoke
and drowning hope in the drinks of Poets
on the other side of the world,
my heart is bloodied
but unyielding
I beg the Lord above
to lend me wings
so that I may breathe out words of healing.
Peace
invariably blooms
when we manage to outwit Apollyon,
who seeks
to trouble the minds of those
trapped
in the clutches of despair, of woe,
of hate
and circumstance.
Let us align with goal,
discover that strength lies in thought,
let not the brutality of this world
make you hard
let not the pain deprive of feeling,
of love
and perseverance.
We are stronger together
in numbers,
in striving to find a solution through means
of harmony
rather than leaning toward route of bias
and destruction.

Yes. May we, then, “dawn delicate”!
Thank you so much, Susan 😀 so glad you liked it ❤️
Thank goodness for those hearts that emerge from under the brutality of the world unjaded and with an even greater capacity to care.
Definitely 🙂 thanks for stopping by, Rommy ❤️
So much truth in your words. It is hard to keep our hearts soft in the midst of so much that is wrong. And yet we must if there is to be any hope for humankind at all.
Thank you so much, Sherry 😀 so good to see you ❤️
Good, solid truth – to work together and strive against the despair that divides.
Sending you love. You grow in wisdom and grace my friend.
hugs

Much🌻🌺love
We are unbeatable when we stand together, caring for one another, refusing to feed on the fear and pain of those some think less…
May all our voices grow wings and find their way to where they are needed most.
Amen! ❤️ Thank you so much, Magaly 😀 so glad you liked it! ❤️
We are stronger together

Amen! ❤️ Thank you so much, Sreeja 😀 so good to see you! ❤️
“breathe out words of healing. ” Amen. The only panacea for all the ills. May we all do this much. Beautiful ,Sanaa.
Thank you so much, Sumana 😀 so glad you liked it ❤️
(and thank you for the lovely prompt)
When we unite it’s almost possible to find a common ground…
and today I felt hopeful for the situation in Yemen for the first time in years.
Thank you so much, Bjorn 😀 so good to see you ❤️
I’d like you to be right 🙂
❤️❤️❤️❤️
I liked the lines /drowning hopes in the drinks of Poets/on the other side of the world/. Maybe it’s just secondary to the holidays approaching, but I am encountering poetics of hope and love, and I really dig it. In America our daily dose of chaos and cruelty blinds us to choices of real fellowship and affection for our fellow man/woman and those less fortunate than us. Thank you for your caring.
Awww gosh! ❤️ Thank you so much, Glenn 😀 so glad you liked it! ❤️
I have noticed the hope also Glen, It made me smile since I am percolating a poem about hope currently.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
The oxymoron in the title is original and it suggested so much before I even started to read the poem, Sanaa! And then the wonderful alliteration in the opening lines:
‘Dawn delicate,
durable,
dreaming’
as well as the action of it bursting through the clouds promises even more, which comes in the onslaught of the second stanza. Thank fully ‘Peace invariably blooms’, a lovely metaphor, and there is hope in harmony.
Awww gosh! ❤️ Thank you so much, Kim 😀 so glad you enjoyed it! ❤️
Your message is a strong one, dear Sanaa and expressed with yearnings that ring so true…. Bless you and good luck tomorrow.
Thank you so much, Scott 😀 so good to see you ❤️
It is difficult to shield against the force of this world… fine poem Sanaa
Definitely 🙂 thanks for stopping by, Rob ❤️

Thank you so much, Xenia 😀 so glad you liked it ❤️
Nice lines and explanation why peace is broken when Apollyon acts “to trouble the minds of those
trapped
in the clutches of despair, of woe,”
Thank you so much, Frank 😀 so good to see you ❤️
Love your inspiring message with: We are stronger together
in numbers.
All the best to you in 2019! Cheers.
Awww gosh! ❤️ Thank you so much, Grace 😀 so glad you liked it! ❤️

Yes, we are stronger together, even though now it seems most of us are in the minority.
Thank you so much, Toni 🙂 so good to see you ❤️
I often feel so helpless watching the news – your poem speaks to the difficulty, the need, the hope in coming together.

The wheel of life
Turns less in
Time, but curves
Rather more again
To the hearts
Beating out
Hopebeats
Not to fall
Not to burn
But to hold the
Dawn in our hand
And to see love
Rising out of the hope
Of mornings
Which hope ascends
Itself from out of
The ashes and
Love of mourning.

power and might, strength from a gentle soul speaks so loud and clear dear poetess.
i love this phrase
“let not the pain deprive of feeling,”
pain can numb us from doing what we should and right to do.
Awww gosh! ❤️ Thank you so much, Gina 😀 so glad you liked it! ❤️
Only in uniting, will people find harmony and peace. Lovely, Sanaa.

Thank you so much, Priya 😀 so good to see you ❤️
“discover that strength lies in thought,
let not the brutality of this world
make you hard
let not the pain deprive of feeling,
of love“
True that girlfriend!
Wonderful stuff Sanaa! Strength in numbers, crowd sourcing and democracy will eventually get most of it right, hopefully in time. Let’s all be in that “coven of granular solitude “
Thank you so much, Lona 😍 so glad you enjoyed it ❤️
