Winter winds have come and gone,
Empty nest awaiting the return.
Under heat of the northern feathers;
New birds settle at break of dawn.
The innocent cries of Β the newly born;
Seeking sweet crumbs filled with love,
Having not learned actions nor words.
Fly at once without fear of thorn.
The flaws you make have fear arise.
The wings trembling cold and small.
Preparing for the first of flights;
Soar throughout the cloudless skies.
The nest alone expecting to be filled;
Raw emptiness of the wintry season.
For when the sun is glistening bright;
The flight of birds shall be fulfilled.

there is a lesson to be learned from birds as your poem infers.
That nest is incredible. Last year I saw my first eagle’s nest and thought “a family could camp inside of that.”
It is a fine poem Miss sunshine

I really like the conceptual image and how you’ve transformed this poem into one that captures the essence of growing up to take on the world. Spring is after all the season in which there are new beginnings. I also like the form in which you’ve written this because it creates a easy flow while reading it.

Such a beautiful interpretation of the art…It speaks to me that we are all fledgling birds at some point in our lives..often more than once.
