Lo! To be foolish once again;
How delightful would it be?
To discard all thee muddles,
Whilst roaming around free!
To be young once again;
Splash in the river stream.
To travel back in time;
Chase the impossible dream!
To be clueless once again;
Lose track of time.
Disburse all thee wealth;
And travel without a dime!
To fall in love again;
Lose all thee sanity.
Get thy heart broken;
Reverse back in reality!
For everyone is foolish;
Before acquiring wisdom.
Hence; the circle of life;
Is quite a gripping system.
Lo! To be foolish once again;
How delightful would it be?
To discard all thee muddles,
Whilst roaming around free!

nice read… i really liked the music in this… but to be wise is much nicer
Hello Wolfsrosebud,
True.. being wise has its perks but maybe foolishness has its own charms as well 😀
So glad you stopped by, Highly appreciated! 😀
xoxo
I think we had the same idea with this prompt. There’s just something fun in foolishness.
Hello Sreejit,
Thank you for stopping by, so glad you liked it 😀
Highly appreciated! 😀
I’m convinced. I loved the days of innocence, love the Tarot Card “The Fool,” and have a place in my heart for the uncomplicated beauty of first passions in love, politics–everything. Your poem brings it all back. And then I think about learning hard lessons again and watch teenage students feel betrayals and think it best just to relive those days in memory! Love your poem!
Hello Susan,
Thank you so much for this delightful insight 😀
It all adds up doesn’t it 🙂 So glad you liked it!
Highly appreciated 😀

Youth is the time for Follies, indeed, and here they all seem to be a lot of fun! Thanks for participating!
Hello Hedgewitch,
Thank you so much 😀 So glad you liked it dear!
Highly appreciated! Have a great week ahead!

Makes you be a ‘girls just wanna have fun’ person, k. I inhaled every line, finally stopping with, “Well, I’ve been there, back in my midlife crazies.” Very nicely written, I like rhyming poems, you did swell there.
I did that, after my ex had hers first and ditched me. I had long hair, rode a motorcycle, mingled with the hippies on weekends, and during the week I worked full time and had gone back to college at night.
..
Hello Jim,
Thanks for stopping by 😀
Well yeah there is no harm in having just a little fun 😛
Glad you liked it 😀
BTW, did you get a chance to see some of GMA this morning before going to work? The featured a new Down Under Group, three younger ladies singing Cindi Lauper style songs with a younger Madonna-like movements. Riding top down, two in front and one in back. (I have my Mustang’s top down and will take it to the P.O. to mail IRS stuff this afternoon.)
..
Hello Jim,
Whoa.. that sounds so cool 😀 I ll definitely check it out!
A mustang sounds nice 🙂 Hope you’re having fun 😀
Most who know me describe me as a ‘free spirit’ ~~ therefore, your poem hit the perfect chord! Smiles.
Hello Helen,
Thanks for stopping by 😀 So glad you liked it dear!

Love the “free spirit” feeling in your poem. There is always time to let your hair down and be fancy free.
I miss days with the “top down” which was most days in Cali.
Great flow in your poem as well
🙂
Hello Leslie,
So glad you liked it my dear 😀

For me, this stanza…
“For everyone is foolish;
Before acquiring wisdom.
Hence; the circle of life;
Is quite a gripping system.”
stood out for its depth and cyclical meaning.
Hello Hannah,
Thanks for stopping by, so glad you liked that one! Its my favorite too 😀

It’s true, each of our stories contains much foolishness. I related to this poem very much!
Hello Sherry,
Thank you so much! It was such a lovely prompt 😀
Enjoyed composing it! 😀

I think we can be foolish at any age, wise too. But I see your point that life does tie us up a bit, curtailing pure freedom. This was a fun read. I think it would make a good song.
Hello Myrna,
Thanks for stopping by, so glad you liked it dear 🙂

Some aspects of that past folly is definitely alluring, but I’d like to go back with all the knowledge I’ve gathered over the years. Loved the poem!

Hello Bjorn,
Thanks for stopping by, glad you liked my poem 🙂
Highly appreciate the sentiments it invoked!
Really, we often think that youth is the time to be foolish. I think we are never too old to enjoy some foolishness in our lives.

Thats exactly what I was going for 🙂 So glad you liked it dear!
Highly appreciated 😀 Have a great week!

Thanks for visiting and commenting at Sharp Little Pencil! Wow, I love the abandon of this one. Seems like many of us have the Spring Fever, the wonderful feeling that all is possible… or at least wishing it so, which is perfectly caught in this lovely poem, Sanaa, Thank you for a great message… and I am too late wise and too long foolish!!! xo Amy

Wisdom comes at a cost. I think it should be delayed as long as possible ,preferably about two days before you are dead:)

Sanaa,
A very upbeat poem, with which I can agree..I do like to still have the ODD moment of being crazy, or perhaps foolish. It keeps me from feeling too ancient, too soon!!!
