A Poet’s Sentiment

A lover without a pinch of rhetoric is as
though empty gestures;
I’d rather prefer it to be unmistakable,
feel it like the length of jalapeno
with my tongue
and then have him pour
milk down my throat, and spill on cheeks
and chin.
