I am still waters that run deep

Make me believe, with those bedroom eyes
fill all the spaces in between,
who knows, maybe the horizon without selfish expectations
will allow the heart’s rose to bloom—not a moment
or two later than expected.
I am still waters that run deep,
dusk that claims the night without cause, without reason;
must we state everything that needs not explaining?
There is a common misconception that goes around
every now and then,
to be top notch need a mouth that ploughs without hesitation—
listen here,
our truth will fill you, on days when the world requires saving,
our vulnerability will be the one perfectly poised and prepared
for battle,
you see, we are a most devastatingly beautiful storm held
tight inside poetic irises,
a comfort to those who need it the most in times of adversity.
He’s deeper breath that consumes,
sophistication veiled in carob hues, would that the long night
call upon us to light the match,
in hopes of cementing a future worthwhile, keep moving—
sometimes the fire is bluer and at other orange;
to the world our disposition means nothing more than a misstep,
a mistake sustained, really?
Let them measure the extent of our raging passion with a single
nod of recognition,
come let us throw a hard punch merely by batting our eyelashes—
for discotheque compares not to intoxicating scent of a library;
to intoxicating scent of a library.
