I am made of dandelion, fire and sunshine
buoyant enough to gift you a smile
I am made of conviction and quiet dreams
strong enough to taper misgivings

I am made of gentle rain and sanguine verse
novel enough to ignite your muse
I take pride in mending broken hearts and souls
search deep into my eyes you ‘ll find it be not false

I am made of prayer, promise and hope
willful enough to sweep dolor and grief
I take pride in spreading warmth and wiping tears
until dusky red dawn/until the moon appears

    So many strengths in this piece, dear Sanaa – so vigorous and visceral and yet so tight and light – with real musicality and still depth too.. Real love the initial ‘I am made of’ statements too – they work well and are so lovely… A real all round tour de force and my favourite read of the day so far – enjoy the rest of your Sunday…
