Untitled (august soft and loud and ruling)

Glass-like stillness reverberating, the kind that
takes over in a second,
the feeling is beautiful,
August, when the sun is butterscotch yellow
and wind is accomplice,
we simply say, it’s a time anything is possible,
I am beginning to see
there’s much more than what meets the eye.

Slivers of understanding fill the atmosphere;
and slow songs act as silhouette,
cherries on dry and slender twigs pay homage—
why is it that half the year passes
before wisdom is imparted,
I imagine the sky laughs, witnessing my state
August, when true nature beckons lovingly
and doubt ceases to exist.

I am unfolding; the broad deeply-sinuated fibres
of my being are of peculiar shade,
they speak in both bold and shy tones,
August, when toes touch the earth
and heavy clouds promising rain come to life—
one needs only be willing,
I lie bowing like a piece of paper waiting to
be filled, to be filled.

August, when skies are abalone and conch;
and tranquility
floats atop misty thoughts, the kind
only nocturnal souls know,
every step taken determines course
and fuchsia blooms as omen,
the hours throbbing inside my temples repeat
as though asking for permission—
August, when change is inevitable,
when dusk holds court for the heart to present
its case; who am I to resist?
