For centuries men have fought for freedom;
Must we sacrifice to achieve?
Like a habit’s hard to weaken;
The truth, impossible to deceive.
Let us build a world, where land
Consists of tranquility and peace.
Let us raise our voice and plan;
Have bloodshed forever cease.
For freedom isnβt bestowed;
It’s most certainly achieved.
Determination raging in our hearts;
Shall prevent us from falling apart.
Cry of defiance towards oppression;
Striking back with equal aggression.

“Is freedom anything else than the right to live as we wish? Nothing else.” _Β Epictetus
Point well made that freedom has to be taken. Oppressors are too ready with the lie and the boot. But can we stop the blood through “equal aggression? All those wars for freedom–when is the land free? What creativity there will be then!

Humans are strange animals that need to be at war with their own kind. We don’t take well to reason, justice or fairness. Countless ages of aggression has taught us nothing. There is hope but sadly she doesn’t carry any weapons.

People (like me) need to remember this. Instead of waiting for something to happen, people should make something happen.

Yes, there has to be a fight for it. Most often it is preceded with lots of blood and tears. Brute strength wins over reason. Wonderful lines Sanaa!

Yes freedom isn’t free, but it can be attained with our equal aggression. Though it is much harder that way.

Freedom is the best of things
cause liberty and joy it brings
to all the world the honor
of young as well as old
more precious than all gold
so fight against the bombers
Just a little piece inspired by yours and an old poem for freedom in Swedish.

Nelson Mandela said: “For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.”
I think we often forget others when we think of our own personal freedom, Sanaa. I think this is the point that your poem is making.
May we be able to achieve freedom while respecting that of others.
