In this moment

Between today and tomorrow
there lies a lifetime,
between today and yesterday
a thin line to denote
what’s true.
Yet, here, in this moment there
lies beauty that seeks to
align my perturbed soul.
Like an autumnal leaf that awaits
the promise of another season.

That autumnal leaf falling gently to the ground ensues the mother tree that she will survive winter and thrive again next summer. What we see as beauty is in fact a sacrifice.
