Divulge

September Moonlight Fall Leaves Tree Nature Background Images

I sigh as emotions strive to meld with drops of rain
Or perhaps all that’s obscure cuts us way less deep.
Observe as rustle of leaves ‘neath shimmering sun
Breathe out whispers, which otherwise were none.
Some beg/offer refuge behind veil of nonchalance
But can features hide dolor behind a mere pretext
I believe to let heart speak out tales of buried past
Who knows how long a soul can its frame out-last.

Or perhaps all that’s obscure cuts us way less deep… nicely done!

  2. Anna :o] says:

To keep things hidden or not…
Sometimes we hesitate in sharing our thoughts and feelings for we know that some don’t want to listen, busy they are with their own lives and disinterested in ours.
Baring our soul often makes us more vulnerable in what is this selfish world of ours.
But I live in hope for there are many good folk in this world too.
    Kind regards

  3. Sumana Roy says:

“I believe to let heart speak out tales of buried past” & that too, to a trusted one…

  4. Wow! Your words are so beautifully expressed. I love this piece! I’m glad you were able to find inspiration ❤️

  5. Susan says:

Divulge–the frame won’t hold! I agree, if I am the frame. I’m lousy at keeping secrets–things grow in hiding. And it doesn’t matter if obscurity would save me from stigma and hurt. I mean, I’ve been scolded and I’ve tried–but you know how us poets are. How beautifully each statement contains its opposite! This is a real gem.

  6. gillena says:

  8. Elizabeth says:

When will we learn that behemoth in our midst, feeds on our silence and just keeps growing?

  9. Letting the heart speak out is wise, I think. A beautiful, accomplished write.

  10. Mary says:

    Beautiful!

  11. Old Egg says:

What a great opening line. The other one which is so apt is “…heart speak out tales of buried past”. Perhaps souls serch forever for their true loves.

  12. A, yes. The invisible soul. Why didn’t I think of that? Well done!

  13. marja says:

“all that’s obscure cuts us way less deep” brilliant and i love the last line as well Great poem

  14. Magical Mystical Teacher says:

I’m not at all sure that a soul can outlast its frame. But, of course, I could be mistaken. 😉

  15. panchali says:

“I believe to let heart speak out tales of buried past
Who knows how long a soul can its frame out-last.”

BEAUTIFUL— I think, we must let out the ‘buried past’ and cleanse the system…so that there’s no repentance later. 🙂

  16. bkmackenzie says:

    Love your last line…brilliant…bkm

  17. gillena says:

“Observe as rustle of leaves ‘neath shimmering sun
Breathe out whispers, which otherwise were none.”

Beautifully penned Sanaa, with a well crafted resonance threading through

  18. debi says:

We do need those safe hearts to hear our tales… but they aren’t for just anyone… only those who care and who are willing to learn. Nice work as usual Sanaa

  19. Me too, “I believe to let heart speak out tales of buried past…” to those who will listen genuinely, and without the need to defend nor affirm. Deep write, Sanaa!

  20. A silenced heart dies… especially when the words are important and life-changing. And let’s face it, most words left unspoken for too long tend to chance everything they fail to touch. Inaction and forced silence are terrible things.

  21. Jae Rose says:

What a heartfelt breath and poem – i think souls can be very strong and outlive emotions 😉

  22. annell4 says:

Perhaps no one can say….how long a soul can outlast its’ frame.

  23. Rommy says:

I love the idea of leaves breathing out whispers

  24. Nicholas V. says:

I think by hiding our innermost thoughts and feeling we feel safer, more protected. To make our invisible visible makes us vulnerable – not something many of us wish to do in today’s society…

  25. loved the last lines….they speak a lot… beautiful!
