Clouds in the water

Gasping asphodels raise themselves
in towers of green then pause—
they observe the clouds
full of sorrow
and choose to bring something soft.
I follow suit and write odes,
my bare skin humbled at the honesty
of the wind;
death is but a dream.

    Yea for Sanaa!! It is hard to write an Ode that says bad things
    about the subject. Maybe you know, it won’t be an ode then?
    This is very nice, I was not familiar with the asphodels, I may
    seen some at Dubia, Aba Dhabi, or Katar but didn’t know what
    they were. Not exactly similar to our lilies.

  10. Loved the closing liness.

    Loving this poem, it hits the heart very profoundly.

  14. I gasped at “humbled at the honesty of the wind”.
    The wind is another gasp, and moves those clouds, with which you illustrated the poem, and which gave the ashpodels pause for thought.

    This is whimsical and sort of a Dark Way, Sanaa. I like the mystery in it.
