Beneath a shaded autumn moon

Among the clouds
there rests a memory of you,
deep in thought
as concentration
brings about a change in brow.
I crave your mouth
the deep sigh
that escapes from the corner
of eloquent lips
and wonder if it’s too early
for a kiss–

  19. Pat says:

I like the idea of a memory of someone special being held in the clouds – which implies both a slight darkness for longing, but not necessarily a full-out storm; there is a subtle softness in this poem and it ends with that pseudo day-dreaming, mesmerizing effect of watching the sky and wondering, and yearning. Crisp ending for the want of a kiss.
