Capriccio

Oh, often I have dreamt beneath faint
glimmer of the night, how two people
differ and still their hearts unite —
It’s said that strength lies in differences
once we seek to conquer o’ great divide.
That, better to swallow up pride than
to risk losing someone who makes us
feel alive.

You’re storm unleashed upon my soul,
and yet mind refers to flames that glow.
You’re ocean cerulean that lulls to sleep,
fear I’ve fallen too little and yet so deep.
So, often I have dreamt beneath faint
glimmer of the night, how two people
differ and still their hearts unite —
