While sifting through the drawers of an old desk;
Came across a bunch of pictures.
With a cup of coffee – it turned into the perfect mixture.
Reminded of past events – it all seemed so grotesque.
Closing my eyes for just a moment – fell deep into a trance.
“We could make all this work if only you would take my call!”
Glancing towards his stricken face – knew that I would give my all.
Alas! upon reaching the dorm – knew I had to take this chance.
I open my eyes as the spell is broken;
Frantically I dial and call.
Upon hearing his voice – I knew we made it after all.
Jumping up – embraced this moment.
Hear you coming down the hall;
Startled quite a bit – caught me as into your arms I fall.

A sunny memory indeed, making one fall even more into the loved one’s arms – fresh, youthful, exuberant. I’d just watch out for the repetition of ‘all’ rhymes in the final stanza – which sounds a little downbeat (falling, mournful) to me – in contrast with the tone of the poem.
