Hark! Be willing to concede;
The acrid rock, infecund soil.
The rapid growth of weed;
Causing men for hours to toil.
The resilient stems;
Bear ligneous base.
Incongruous nature;
Bear residual pace.
Hark! Be willing to recede;
Enrapture of marijuana.
Follow the call of instinct;
Resisting desire and greed.
A man void of principles;
Similar to soil sprouting weed.
Fear the wrath of the Lord;
Lest the soul starts to bleed.
Hark! Be willing to succeed;
The path to achieving goals.
Brace the vigor of raging storm;
Bursting within the fiery soul.
Through the tiniest cracks of hope;
In the absolute concrete.
Shines the promise of tomorrow;
Restraining from defeat.

I like the tiny cracks of hope the best, in this poem…I often marvel at how weeds can find purchase in unforgiving soil and actually survive. Much like the human spirit.

What a delicious and hopeful view of a weed. I use the word even though I do not agree with the concept. Nature favours weeds and we pull them out only because they are of no use to us 🙁
