The time has come;
For us to succumb.
To own our ways;
To earn due praise.
Repeatedly time;
Lingers to our side.
Through affliction is;
Our solitary guide.
Woes and sorrows;
Time thus heals.
To Creator above;
Makes us kneel.

Left behind are things;
Holding on like strings.

I have lived your third stanza repeatedly over the last few years. I know the only reason I haven’t succumbed to the pain of all of it is there is a power greater than I holding me up. This is beautiful. Thank you for writing for the challenge.

I’m liking it, Sanaa. There comes a time, when we must trust ourselves. Pain is a great teacher, and like you say God wants us kneeling. If we don’t now, at the last times “every knee shall bow and every mouth confess …” That will be the final time for some.
