I solemnly smile
and try not to hide
as courage washes upon shore
during the storm.
The constant thrashing of my heart
can be heard
as wisdom pours from mouth
of a seashell,
am I to draw close to the unsung
while dreaming of days
when I was poised and confident?
Believe chance is a lover
that murmurs
I see the person you are today
and can’t wait
to determine a vision for tomorrow.

Humans are fools if they think they are the ones concerned about the Earth and it’s future. Many animals already know when to shift home as seasons change. If they do this they much more too even shellfish! Loved it Sanaa!

“chance is a lover/that murmurs” is such a beautiful phrase. a lovely, uplifting write with the courage washing up on the shore and the wisdom gained through such an encounter. That last stanza is both melancholic and hopeful in its tone.
