Ode to the Wind

Lo! Glorious wind, she blows
Spreading jubilation among the souls.
The wind of promise and repose;
Of Nature exhibiting a vital role.

The wind blows past her ruffled hair;
At time of dusk she looks up and stares.
The wind is gentle as if singing a prayer;
Soothing the burn of her rushing tears.

Gentle whispers of the wind;
With Nature has a perfect blend.

Hear the wind rustling the leaves;
Calming the senses when no one believes.
The wind tapping against the window;
Humming along the song of willow.

  1. The wind can be so much, soothing or gentle, caressing or maiming.. a choice of using the zephyr’s breath, the ever present movement that’s filled with meaning… great choice.

    “..as if a prayer..”—ah, yes.. the wind is clearly like that, Sanaa. I like that you wrote about the wind as it is my favourite element. I always find connection with the wind as the sound it produce is like a bird’s prayer to my ears—humming psalms beyond sacramental faith. Thanks for the poem! This is bookmark worthy.
