Crouched behind a bush tonight;
Beneath the moon – sliver light.
Drew the soul into view;
Cloaked in deep midnight blue.
As stars utter unto the night;
Passed and vanished out of sight.
His lone trespass – a streak of paint
Close enough for one to faint.
Buried deep into thought;
What was it – that he sought?

Hmmm, so what I like best about this poem is the narrative you withheld. It takes great talent to give only enough detail to let the reader swim through your words. Well done and viva la!

Long ago I knew a fellow who was a graffiti artist. He was a gentle soul, something of a stoner, had a heart of gold. This poem made me think of him and wonder what became of him over the years.

A streak of paint
The graffiti on his wall
These pulps of thought will taint
His heart will never fall
With his vision fallen faint
Preset words announce it all

Like the concept of this poem. There is tension, certainly, and the reader is left to form his own interpretation of the event. I am thinking of something nasty 🙂
