The Other Side Of Twilight

Sun-kissed,
though brittle and dried
I wonder
what stripped them of tangerine hue
softly
the evening takes my name
and sighs
as a thousand epiphanies run through my mind
the world’s substituted “trolling with lust,”
perhaps
sunflowers had a hard time resisting temptation too.

I like the sound of this especially the rhyme between “hue” and “too” which ties all of this together for me. Nice!

  7. How do you do that, Sanaa? You’ve even made the word ‘troll’ sound romantic!

Like climbing a stamen, we aren’t given much until we see color “trolling with lust” and then the gorgeousness of the encounter knocks us down with heavy heated presence. Nicely done.
