Soliloquy – Bitter Blossoms Believe Not

Bitter blossoms believe not in intangible ideas, in concepts,
in reveries that last;
believe not autumn has power to lift the most severed of hearts—
I am ridiculously optimistic,
softening the edge of ebony night, unafraid of the world,
there isn’t a solution
that can’t be expressed with a mathematical equation,
no matter the skepticism of one observing,
every once in a while, the world will push you past your limits;
remember to breathe,
to sift through the madness and the broken parts.
You are fire, feel the warmth within—you are water, wind,
soul on earth,
remember there is much that reminds you are capable.

Bitter blossoms believe not in discarding,
believe not in letting go of that which no longer serves—
his demeanor calm has me believing,
has me writing odes, writing sonnets to fruit of sakura,
it’s funny, a few years ago I wouldn’t have imagined
it to be possible;
do you believe, wrapped in tight embrace, in touch of breath,
in conversation?
Do you believe the right person can make you bloom at 4AM?
Salted these tears turn saccharine at mere mention of hope
in context,
it only begins when we allow our minds to perceive;
when we allow our minds to perceive.

Bitter blossoms believe not in love, believe not in sweet impossible;
I fell asleep within minutes,
indulging in delicate scent that emerged from his collarbone—
an infusion of leather notes using a blend of flowers, leaves
and woods,
I covet him like a rain-filled cloud, there is no greater hunger
than this,
no greater satisfaction than to fall deeper—
lashes lowered upon skin gentle, leaving behind plethora of
emotions to unravel,
this isn’t something one can be confused about.
Bitter blossoms believe not.

  4. This verse is great: “there isn’t a solution that can’t be expressed with a mathematical equation,
    no matter the skepticism of one observing” Since I like numerology, this spoke to me! It’s a hidden code of sorts, but the mystics read it. You have to let go of the bitterness to comprehend! 💗
