Let your voice sing through the clouds;
Your spirit shine among the crowds.
To what can reason such effect assign;
Paint the world your thoughts divine.
Smile as if you’ve
nothing to lose;
Nothing to gain while
singing the blues.
These hopes do battle to and fro;
Trail of emotions ebb and flow.
Let your heart save broken lives;
Their rainbow’s end is hemmed with knives.
Smile as if you’ve
nothing to lose;
Nothing to gain while
singing the blues.
This life we live is oh so short;
Several who lack love and support.
Let your mind indulge and choose;
How would it be – placed in their shoes.
Smile as if you’ve
nothing to lose;
Nothing to gain while
singing the blues.

Hi Sanaa, someone’s smile can indeed brighten another’s day. And to put a smile on your face…well, there is nothing to lose by doing so, and there is a lot to gain by brightening your own life & also the lives of others.

Nice, this read like a song as well with the chorus. The blues may make us feel better in the moment, but at the end of the day the problem is still there. We get to choose the song we will sing, regardless of the circumstances.

There’s always pain behind the blues, but those who can sing to others, as you say, have a chance to alleviate their suffering. Not quite a blues form, this song deserves to be sung.

All one has to lose is the darker side of emotions, turning that frown upside down. Greet the day with a smile, & the reciprocation will be astonishing.
