Of madness and fragile things

What is that sound that seems far away
and yet threatens to tear a heavy heart?
My mind is a playground which retains
psychedelic dreams.

I am hollow, I am rage, I speak of things
which only the guiltless can bear; live or
die but don’t let this world corrupt you,
let them taint not the holier spirit.

As fire that rises out of tempestuous sea,
cleanse the heart fragile of thoughts that
weep, there’s comfort in thin line which
separates madness and poise.
