Muted hues and shades of Romanticism

Eyes full of moon, I write his name;
with glorious sense of yearning,
at night

I am discontent with the world;
since first hearing its voice, its song,
I weep.

Wrap your loneliness around me;
from umber to pink, spring blossoms,
come see.

I find that it is lips that urge
not clouds; in pure, perfect stillness,
he feels.

Muted hues and shades in turn beg;
romanticism calls to us,
and sings.

Let us break away from the past;
in doing so, evolve fairly,
he sees.

~~~~~*~~~~~~
Know that it’s dark and tormenting;
a choice and a way of living,
he thinks.
The question is are you prepared;
and if yes, then to what extent,
tell me.
  1. Muted yet lush, romantic and still testing, I really liked this a lot.
    I love the gentle walk to that conclusion in the end… romantic and feels very true
  3. Grace says:
    I can feel the yearning and love those shades of spring season. The question at the end, gives me pause and indeed really depends on the answer. Lovely theme for the poem Sanaa!
  4. Return of Romance…hurrah. Very clever to morph from dreamy to pragmatic; good twist. Lots of love-making in the Spring, versus inactive winter bundling.
    Profound portrayal of what it is to feel. I love the last line… Reminds me of a line from a song
    ‘How much of my love is insane to some degree’
  14. hmmmmnn…. this one is deep – Sanaa – a real “thinking” poem! very powerful, really.
  15. I love the opening “eyes full of moon” and the gorgeous rhythm of the words throughout. 😍
