I am fairly misunderstood;
owing to my sharp tongue and never-ending stardust in my bones.
Ninth house of the zodiac,
I am both fire and ice wrapped in the ocean’s breath—
wanderer by night,
I am trained in the language of the heart;
the dirt remembers my fingerprints, the sky my temperament—
I see you
your laughter and your pain;
I am the kind of rain that falls soft at first, harder
when required.
Dance with me, for the world is weary and everybody in the end
deserves a reboot,
a chance to rewind as mauve sunset crosses the city
and becomes lost in a row of lamplit faces—
I am Sagittarius.

I must stand to applaud this fiery anthem of self-knowledge. One of my favourites of the month, and congratulations to your determination to write a poem every day of such high quality.
Awww gosh! ❤️ Thank you so much, Kerry 😀 so glad you enjoyed it! ❤️
Ah the personality of the archer sounds very intriguing An amazing poem and the following lines are stunning
“I am both fire and ice wrapped in the ocean’s breath”
“a chance to rewind as mauve sunset crosses the city
and becomes lost in a row of lamplit faces”
Thank you so much, Marja 😀 so glad the poem resonated with you ❤️
We both went for the stars! A beautiful ode to Sagittarius, Sanaa. I love the opening line, which hooked me immediately, and sets the tone of the poem. I love the phrases ‘never-ending stardust in my bones’, ‘wanderer by night’ and ‘lost in a row of lamplit faces’.
Thank you so much, Kim 😀 so glad you liked it ❤️
Are you, now? My rising sign is Sag. Might be one reason we get on so well. 🙂
My favourite line of this wonderful poem is, ‘the dirt remembers my fingerprints, the sky my temperament’.
Thank you so much, Rosemary 😀 so glad you enjoyed it ❤️
Hopefully you don’t care if you are misunderstood. We are all individuals that are creative in our own way. Let those without imagination copy but I want to try something new!
Thank you so much, Robin 😀 so good to see you ❤️
Yes, a beautiful ode to Sagittarius❣️I particularly like the lines “Dance with me, for the world is weary and everybody in the end
deserves a reboot,” so true🌹🙏
Thank you so much, Ellecee 😀 so glad the poem resonated with you ❤️
Lovely lovely lovely!
I’m often misunderstood…by those who don’t know me…
Anna :o]
❤️❤️❤️
Misunderstood looks so good on this speaker. I love how powerful and self-knowing she is. She sounds like someone who would get along wonderfully well with Aries.
Thank you so much, Magaly 🙂 so glad you enjoyed it ❤️
You have captured the essence of Sagittarius so well. My mother, God rest her soul was one. This is my favorite line because it is perfect: “I am both fire and ice wrapped in the ocean’s breath—
wanderer by night,’
May her kind soul rest in peace. Amen. Thank you so much, Linda 🙂 so glad you liked it ❤️
A beautiful balance of contrasts!
Thank you so much, Chrissa 😀 so good to see you ❤️
This was a fun to read poem, Sanaa. I am never “fairly misunderstood,” my mind doesn’t tolerated that being fair. My feelings get hurt, my chest hurts, and I get short on breath. Just thinking about that gives me a twinge of that.
I am a Scorpio but I may not fit it very good.
..
Thank you so much, Jim 🙂 so glad the poem resonated with you ❤️
“I am the kind of rain that falls soft at first, harder
when required.”
Who could ask for more of the rain, element of God
Happy Sunday Sanaa. Thanksfor dropping by my sumie Sunday today
Much💙love
Thank you so much, Gillena 😀 so glad you liked it ❤️
Much love …
This Aquarian salutes Sagittarius. I, too, shoot from the lip! Elsewise you sound much more exciting, however! Beautiful write!
Thank you so much, Beverly 😀 so glad you enjoyed it ❤️
Lovely writing. When I think your poems can get no better…they do.
Thank you so much, Myrna 😀 so good to see you ❤️
I very much enjoyed this poem of self knowledge … written with insight and depth. And I loved the captivating contrasts. You took this piece is a fascinating direction.
I think everyone should take the time to pursue a similar course of self reflection … and then decide if that is how they want to ‘be’ on this earth … or if they are in need of a rewrite. ~ smiles ~
Thank you so much, Wendy 😀 so glad you enjoyed it ❤️
You are so much more than a body. So expansive and wide open armed.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
“Dance with me, for the world is weary…” The world is definitely weary and maybe being alive just isn’t enough. Perhaps dance would bring life back to us all of us.
Thank you so much, Joel 🙂 so glad the poem resonated with you ❤️
Never could relate to the sun signs but I do completely agree that everyone needs a reboot every once in a while!! Ramzan mubarak, Sanaa. Stay safe.
