Between the shadow and soul
there lies darkness, but it’s ultimately desire
thats drives one into its depths.
You’re love and words brewing inside
the volatile heart, as though fire
that seeps into the rays of dandelion sun.
I watch as you sought to resist
autumnal allure, and moments like this
there’s magic in the embrace of redolent wind.
And I will remember the storm
of relentless lips, and how I had given you
everything – my heart, my body and soul.
For until we have seen someone’s light
and darkness, can hardly hope to discern
and be irrevocably in love.

This prompted a lot of sighs out of me. Love is the best of arts, especially when we find it… and it find us back.
What a delightful piece, Sanaa. There is something extra special about the voice–a maturity, a longing, a promise… that I really like. This might be one of my new favorites, by you.

To love so passionately, even as the protagonist watches their beloved struggle with their own darkness. It made me think a little about the myth of Tam Lin, but then my mind will always wander to a fairy tale. Really lovely.

A beautiful piece! It made me think about this Tinder world we live in now, where people present only the “light” of themselves in order to attract a mate, hiding the “dark” and ultimately never knowing if another person can love the true them.

I agree that one cannot really say one experiences love unless one sees, and accepts, the light as well as the darkness. Every human being is multi-faceted.
