Flirtation

In Fall, I’m falling for you;
I try not to
but even the sky has changed its hue–
dusky, with a hint of mauve,
it’s no wonder the mind refuses
to reload.
This ache’s drawing me into its fold;
how, only the moon knows.

    Love the illustration….love the imagery in these words “even the sky has changed its hue–
    dusky, with a hint of mauve,”. A beautiful poem, as always, my friend.

  2. Dora says:

    Lovely, Sanaa! “but even the sky has changed its hue– ” Funny how falling love colors everything we see!

  3. Björn says:

    How lovely, and how much the increase of night can be a seduction in itself.

  4. Ah, romantic Sanaa, you wrote about flirtation and I wrote about the kiss! I love the lines:
    ‘This ache’s drawing me into its fold;
    how, only the moon knows.’

      Yes! Your quadrille felt like a sequel to my own 🥰🥰

  5. Ah, the moon indeed knows. They do not call it lunacy for nothing. A lovely quadrille.

  6. The pictures compliment each other well.

    We can’t stop the fall once it’s started – pre-destined – such a lovely poem …

    Oh me, oh my … a stellar bit of writing Sanaa. I sorely miss those days in my life when romance was entrancing, exhilarating and simply always “there.” Keep your youthful outlook, stay young in mind, in body.

  18. There’s nothing quite like a love poem! So enjoyable and sweet.

  19. Paul Cannon says:

    I love the play between fall, falling, try not to, counterposed with ache, wonderful Sanaa.
