Courage

Animals___Horses_Girl_hugs_horse_042468_

I refuse to be soft like oatmeal porridge;
Wrapped up in some cold dark storage.
Cause those who strive for distant goals;
Need courage within their flesh and souls.
Though courage it isn’t designed for show;
Borrowed this passion stands true in woe.
It isn’t something that comes and goes.
Breath of strong men’s life and creed;
Follow the path where courage shall lead.

Though courage a slow, unwavering trait
It comes to those with strength to wait.
These skies so dark they hide the blue;
Yet fleeting corners we shall pursue.
Our future is what we shall conceive;
Follow the path where courage shall lead.

    I love that first line! Maybe it’s in opposition to it that I often find my courage in the warmth of oatmeal in my stomach! I always eat the food, rather than let it eat me. We do need courage to build a good future.
