Exultation

Under the deepening skies, there blooms
willing soul, with a feeling that seemed toΒ 
cling to heart. I remembered at once, that
blues could be let loose like a helium filled
balloon then smile towards sun cherishing
shades of orange, dijon and pure desire.Β

  5. I felt a bit of loneliness, of sadness, and then the wonderful release signified by the balloons–the letting go. Great metaphor. One of your best.

  6. Terrific metaphor, rocking the prompt=–put me in mind of Paul Klee’s THE RED BALLOON. Joyful abandon trumps those clinging parasitic blues every time; smile.

  33. I love that last line. The idea that “pure desire” is a color, a shade, like orange or dijon is something I hadn’t considered before.
