Places I love

Feel the ocean kiss your feet;
Rejoice – when close kindred meet.
A day or two at Hawkesbay beach;
Far beyond the city’s reach.
I caught the bus – read news on the way;
Finally arrive – Butlers chocolate cafe.
The delicious aroma took my breath away.
A streak of gold in skies above;
Saying the names of places I love.

The evening sky is growing dark;
Come stroll along Bin Qasim park.
Upon the grass we lie for hours;
Glance above on meteor showers.
Choose the stairs that mount above;
Saying the names of places I love.

    There is indeed a ‘romance’ to the both persons & places one loves, and your poem shows that so very well. But now I am wondering just where in the world is Hawkesbay Beach and Bin Qasin Park?

      PS: Bin Qasim Park and Hawkesbay beach are both in Karachi. The park is located in the suburb of the city and is Karachi’s largest urban park, covering 130 acres and visited by over 10 million people each year. The beach is situated 20 km Southwest of Karachi. And the cafe can be found at a number of places in the city, but I love going to the cafe at Dolmen Mall 🙂

    I think it is unique to humans, having places we like. Of course all that breath like where we eat and sleep, those don’t count unless it is a special place. Childhood and early romantic encounter places are high on most’s lists.
