Within a moment or two

There, beyond the fountain
where palm trees offer peace,
without haste, we tread;
it’s where we kiss and where
hurdles melt piece by piece.

The city breathes blue hope,
clad in poised buildings, hear
sky’s ash white struggles–
what I wouldn’t give to see,
lush leaf ferns flourish here.

The sweet din of Baku
wears the dew of youth’s hour,
survives through tumult
and tells tales of romance–
we glide from yours to our.

I specially love this part: The city breathes blue hope, and lush leaf ferns flourishing. Love the form, and transition of romance to the personal one. Maybe it be peaceful and a sweet one!

  2. Your flamenco isn’t staccato at all, it’s gentle and romantic, especially the softly plosive ‘palm trees offer peace’, ‘city breathes blue hope’ and ‘lush leaf ferns flourish here’.

I agree with Kim, the poem flows along gently.

  4. “sky’s ash white struggles” Wow, what a line! A beautiful take on the prompt… You make this staccato form flow & you make it feel easy… which it isn’t.

Th͏is poem beaut͏ifully captures the essence of a place where love and tranqu͏il͏ity ͏intertw͏ine. The ͏imagery ͏is v͏iv͏id, and I can almost feel the gentle breeze and hear the c͏ity’s heartbeat. The way you descr͏ibe the c͏ity’s res͏il͏ience and ͏its ab͏il͏ity to hold onto hope ͏is both ͏insp͏ir͏ing and touch͏ing. It’s a rem͏inder that even ͏in the m͏idst of l͏ife’s struggles, there are moments of pure beauty and connect͏ion. Thank you for shar͏ing th͏is lovely p͏iece. 👍👌😊
