The verbs are all in the present;
so, I do not sleep in early morning sun,
I breathe the deep turquoise,
bounce between shallow and shy
without a care
that black box of wine is empty inside–
it’s easier to say you’re all right.

It’s easier to say you’re all right….sadly true. Me thinks it much better to have a confidant we can share our feelings with…a friend. Glad you posted, Sanaa! 🙂
Thank you so much, Lillian 😀 so glad you liked it 💄❤️
(and thank you for the glorious prompt) 🥂
I do remember those few times having consumed too much… it is hard to sleep it off, but I am sure we just say it’s all right
Thank you so much, Bjorn 😀 so glad the poem resonated with you 💄❤️
I love the captured moment and this color: I breathe the deep turquoise. A word in response is all that needed to take out that anxiety.
Thank you so much, Grace 😀 so glad you enjoyed it 💄❤️
Breathing turquoise skies hopefully soothes the over-indulgent!
I love that the word ‘present’ meant tense to you too, and that breathing of deep turquoise – it’s easier to wake to, especially when the wine is all gone – not that I have experience of that! But it’s so true, it is easier to say you’re all right.
I love “breathe the deep turquoise.” That box of wine and saying you’re all right. . . I’m glad I know you don’t drink. 😉
Nice one!!! the black box eagerness😊
Happy Monday
Much💚love
I like the mystery permeating your quadrille. Makes me want to solve it.
Especially like the bouncing between shallow & shy, S. Nice work and beautiful artwork. Thanks
A very interesting poem, Sanaa. If you emptied that box of wine you may not be ready to see the sunshine!
You’ve included some great artwork with your poem. The picture matches the mood of the poem perfectly. You captured that sense of being unmoored very well in your poem.
Beautiful.❤️
Nicely done poem.
The black box you can’t see inside but you know is empty. I enjoyed the subtlety of your words, Sanaa.

The wine will bless you into the rest and quiet you deserve to counter the hectic life of a young person. Love both the wordcraft and accompanying images, Sanaa!

Beautiful! From starting to end. The artwork you shared fits perfectly with your poem. Bravo!
Sanaa — my friend in the words… ❤️
Love how you let us know that ‘verb’ is the here and now! Lovely write, Ms. Sanaa!
This.
And this.
Wow. You work magic even with 44 words, Sanaa.
Much love,
