Beneath a shaded autumn moon

Spread the love

Among the clouds
there rests a memory of you,
deep in thought
as concentration
brings about a change in brow.
I crave your mouth
the deep sigh
that escapes from the corner
of eloquent lips
and wonder if it’s too early
for a kiss–

That’s a sweet quadrille, Sanaa, and so romantic, especially:
    ‘I crave your mouth
    the deep sigh
    that escapes from the corner
    of eloquent lips’.
And I agree with Toni – it’s never too early for a kiss!

Ah, when can it ever be too early for a kiss? Ha!
I could feel the hesitation and the desire in your words, having experienced it in its many forms — I loved the setting and the sweet, sweet romanticism.
Such a lovely poem, Sanaa! 🙂

I like the idea of a memory of someone special being held in the clouds – which implies both a slight darkness for longing, but not necessarily a full-out storm; there is a subtle softness in this poem and it ends with that pseudo day-dreaming, mesmerizing effect of watching the sky and wondering, and yearning. Crisp ending for the want of a kiss.
