I, see them waiting, blending into the shadows
I see as they gesture with petulance and malice.
Their fingertips trace trepidation unto my soul
I, knew none could hear a scream that pierced,
probed into the conscience like shards of glass.

Bittersweet and strange feels oh courage which
leaped into rib cage, as though a bird fluttering,
I urge my heart to remain conscious and aware,
implore to build a wall that leaves out madness.

I hear your voice calling from amid the darkness
I, extend out a hand oh and I offered you a smile,
watch as your tears bathe wounds of year passed
I, laugh as you reprimand which echoes as relief,

‘I have learned to battle demons that breathe.’
