“I have seen the movement of the sinews of the sky, and the blood coursing in the veins of the moon.” – Muhammad Iqbal
I lie bare beneath the shadows
Observing as moon — a ghostly
galleon is tossed upon nubilous
seas.
Lost amid life’s noise and whirl —
I pondered as your voice invades
‘Grim in swathes of vengeance clad
Darling, let go or else be dragged’
Blandly you smile, peering across
coal-black eye, with a glance so sly
My caverns unexplored and dark
Flicker upon your touch and burn.
In the hour that passed —
amidst fissure of mushroom clouds
I witnessed the surge of passion
in the veins of the moon.

An enchanting piece, this, very sensual. I like how you worked in the quote at the end of this (the one I used that is attributed to one Muhammad Iqbal). Still the Net, often mislabels quotes, so regardless , those lines work fine in your poem.

in the veins of the moon.
