Remember; courage blossoms from within,
in the darkest of hours, when one least expects it.
Remember; courage is not absence, rather it is
when the heart feels like it’s about to burst
and all you want to do
is run, run and run,
I can’t tell you how many times I have felt this way.

Remember; courage is a silent river that flows,
as one walks through a path filled with tombstones,
talking to ghosts,
and heeding to withered daisies and such,
it’s not easy,
for the mind remains in winter when in truth it is spring.
Remember; courage is as pages of an open book.
Remember; courage is when we feel like a lesser version
of ourselves and still manage to break through.

Remember; courage is when we let go of the past,
it is when we burn those words to ash and release them
to the moon—
I, for one, have burned more times than I’d like to admit.
Remember; courage is pain that’s easily remembered,
coming to terms with anguish
and transforming scars into sizzling, shimmering stars.
Remember; courage is recognized by the look in one’s
eyes, it’s the greatest truth waiting to be uttered,
Remember; courage is when you wish to write sonnets
again and again, on lover’s skin,
knowing well that he has your thoughts in disarray.

Remember, remember, remember;
remember courage is more than what meets the eye,
but how can we call it so
unless there is a touch of madness to it,
courage blue-violet, it’s the greatest of intoxication,
courage, I wish to fall under influence,
taste the wine that helps in weeding out thoughts
and allowing the garden of life to be prettier for those
who stop by—
remember; courage is all of this and more,
I just want you to go over these details once before you
decide to cultivate the landscape sweet. Shall we?
