November 18th, notes for further study

Spoiling me
with the lightest brush of your lips,
a smile
a parting
and sweet disorder.
I reckon
you know what goes on inside my head
long after
your gaze leaves the room,
aware
that the last strawberry would taste
the best of all.

    Nice metaphor!

  6. Jo-Anne Teal says:

Your poem is a gentle moment, Sunny. Nicely expressed.

  7. You always bring a touch of romance with you, Sanaa, and sweetness in this poem, too. You have also reminded me that there are strawberries in our fridge begging me to eat them for breakfast! I love the list of three:
    β€˜a smile
    a parting
    and sweet disorder’.

  8. Old Egg says:

It is always a delight to read your romantic poetry Sanaa especially when there is innuendo in it as well.

  9. HA says:

Ooh, this is delectable, Sanaa! Romantic and sensuous β€” the brush of lips, the last strawberry, et al. set the mood. I love how brief it is like that gaze, and in that, it encompasses everything. <3 πŸ™‚

I so love the last lines here… that strawberry though, seems like just the beginning… I would want another..

  16. I love how that last strawberry tastes the best of all. Very cool.

  17. Jim says:

In general, sooo right, Sanaa. Of course still in mind there will be another. I remember one that wasn’t, I stead it was with a hint of much pain to follow.

Also perfect for Anmol’s prompt. Oh these sweet dashes, they are a pulsing entwined living. Don’t hold them young one, taste richly rather.

The image of the last strawberry at the end adds so much to the sensuality of the poem. Beautifully done, Sanaa.
