Between nothingness and pain
I chose to linger, and like new moon
cradled ebony skies.
Why is the new moon partially
hidden, I wonder as emotions gave way
to impossible dreams.
Perhaps like humans, she too
has demons, who threaten to claw
into the subconscious mind.
I glance once again, admiring the
new moon, her power and strength
before finally resigning to bed.

Oh! Magnificent!
Wisdom.
I believe we and she are indeed alike, refusing to see the sun at times and at other times shining bravely and wildly.

it sounds so sad. I also enjoyed:

As are we, the moon is periodically reduced to basics, only to call on her resilience and rebuild to her full self! Great poem.
Thank you so much, Beverly π so good to see you β€οΈ
Perhaps as the moon moves through her different phases her strength and fortitude waxes and wanes as the tides that she creates. Food for thought, Sanaa.

The moon being haunted by demons like humans are is such a wondrous thought. Ties the push and pull of moon and earth together even more, like two friends with a shared secret.
