I thought to search for means of joy,
One which time could not destroy.
With time I learned that joy to give,
Like faith to hold and life to live.
Chide not the tongue that’s nice and sweet,
Unseen, unknown these angels greet;
Their laughter soft echoes in streets.
Souls in need have hopes now held,
My constant heart needs joy to spread.
Their woes shall now progress through me,
Then, a garland of bliss shall vow to weave.
Though flowers distilled with winter meet,
They refuse to hide in the warmth of defeat.
Moreover leap where others refuse to tread,
My constant heart needs joy to spread.

Yes, what the world needs now is the joy from doing good works, not the joy felt by Republicans as they hold down the common man. We live in the eternal Now, & since life is short, we need to find joy every day; smiles.

I like this rondeau – both as song and its content. Your use of anapests to break up the beat of the iambs was interesting. It changed the tempo and arrested the eye at important points in the poem. Well done!
