I have searched for you under many a mulberry moon;
perused an onion,
for what better way to learn a thing or two about intricacies
than to look through your eye?
Take it. Take my wholesome poems and devour as fruit,
we pay up
to a certain extent when we set out to own the truth;
grey smoke billowing,
a gossamer veil separates us, could it be so that
we would come face to face from behind a portal of decadesβ
whatever I have bred,
comes directly from heart, from your English garden.

Oh… the onion… love how you made me remember that.
A mulberry moon or a moon wrapped in brown paper…

I think you have done this beautifully Sanaa, ‘for what better way to learn a thing or two about intricacies
than to look through your eye?’
– The perfect way to learn poetry is to learn from the poets we admire most. I can feel your love of and respect for her poetry in your writing.
Thank you so much, Ingrid π so glad the poem resonated with you πβ€οΈ

The image of the moon wrapped in brown paper is such a good one! I’m not sure how she’d take the reference to having an English garden though.

mulberry moon. perused an onion. oh this poem took my breath away, Sanaa. a beautiful piece for a cherished author.
Thank you so much, Rosemawrites π so glad you liked it πβ€οΈ
Oh my poetic ignorance is appearing again and again with this prompt. I am truly a neophyte with poets. But this reads beautifully even if I am not familiar with the poet. The idea of the onion, the mulberry moon…..and the illustration of the beautiful tea cup with mention at the end of the poem of the English garden. I can imagine sitting there with this beautiful cup in hand. Just lovely, Sanaa!
Thank you so much, my dearest Lillian π so glad you enjoyed it πβ€οΈ
Oh how I love “mulberry moon”
