The flaming August sky,
heavy heart and
unsuspecting youth
is a bundle of contradictions.

I want to believe in hope
as cold fingers
trace dandelion worries
and lively disposition;
when will that hour come
when the sun will glow
and revoke affliction?

The sky that once held
dreams laments
and burns unwritten scripts,
I wonder if the world
resists this side of early black;
can wishes truly fly
once we learn to let go?

It’s a strange truth that heart
is made up of
contradictory feelings;
on one hand it longs to be free
but can’t bear losing
the sight of home,
on other it’s conscious of truth
but never seems to be able
to accept completely.

I want to uncover love
and all its untouched spaces,
dip the soul in tranquility
and utmost ebb of night
when faced with the challenge
to silence the mind.
How do I unlock this side
of me, tell me how
do I acquaint
tame with wild?
