Then hear me now, as I bend and gaze;
Echo: Gaze
He plunged his arms to revere, embrace
Echo: Embrace

He hovered around fountain lost in praise;
Echo: Praise
And lost count of passing nights and days
Echo: Days

Beautiful being, why do you shun and fade?
Echo: Fade
Hear me sigh enamoured by looks and ways
Echo: Ways

Narcissus knew not he loved his own image;
Echo: Image
“Do we ever know when it’s time to finish?”
Echo: Finish

He weeped as tears meld with troubled water;
Echo: Water
He knew not what else he could possibly offer.
Echo: Offer

Vanity, I’m sensible enough not to fall as prey;
Echo: Play
As I write down my words in pursuit of today.
Echo: Stay
