They come crashing in my life, in my life like cymbals
sweeping away any chance, that, there is left;
less than dulcet overtones,
but I am in love with the way your name sounds on my lips.
Souls pay rent,
pay rent in the lighthouse of calm, in midst of hurricane,
in voice, in heart— it’s uncanny
that we can overflow with joy and ache at the same time.
In a feast of rain, soft percussion there lie answers;
I have learned that damsels need not dance to flats, to sharps
and tinkling sounds—
autumn knocks and shyly the storm inside of me comes undone,
it’s not necessary to always heed to the dirt, to the ground;
indigo intention,
burning the silence between us, can you hear just how loudly,
just how loudly I am thinking of you?

Shadows long not for rays, dove-grey in their audacity,
in their stand against injustice;
I am falling,
falling deep into abyss, into slow dance, waiting for him to smile,
it’s terrifying,
a willing addict ready to battle all that comes,
lilac longing,
we all have a story that we are still working on;
does the thought of losing me ever cross your mind?
They come crashing, crashing in my life like cymbals
sweeping away
any chance, that, there is left;
what they don’t realize is that I am just  getting started.
