The depth of love, wide as the ocean
A symbol of hope, utmost devotion
Feelings of admiration, vivid in speech
As far as orbit of moon can reach.
Break of dawn before sun shall rise;
Marks an opening of opal blue skies.
Determined, strong, emotions ablaze;
Seek to conquer, with prudence, amaze.
Your words of wisdom, a golden thread
Shield from fear, foreboding and dread.
Beguile with charm, your winning smile;
Like floating red lotus through the Nile.
For all the times that we shared;
Of ways showing how much you cared,
Through darkness and times of utter despair;
I listen to murmurs of your silent prayers.
Love traversed through time and space;
Deeper the feelings, harder to trace.
Moonlight streaming across the lake;
A dozen roses in crystal vase.

The depth of love that you see in your father is enhanced and deepened as you mature yourself. What a beautiful tribute you have written for yours.
Hello Old Egg,
Thanks for stopping by, so glad you liked it π
Highly appreciated, have a wonderful week.
Full of words of praise, panegyric in nature, your poem describes to me an otherworldly presence more through feelings he raises in the poet than through experience of him. And it is high praise indeed! My favorite quatrain is:
“Your words of wisdom, a golden thread
Shield from fear, foreboding and dread.
Beguile with charm, your winning smile;
Like floating red lotus through the Nile.”
I can imagine the golden thread and the smile. How wonderful. And enviable.
Thank you.

So beautiful, Sanaa. I especially love “I listen to murmurs of your silent prayers”.
