World Within

Spread the love

No sooner did I close my eyes
the world around me swung
Sensation takes over as I begin to float
in a pool of words just words and words
The stars swirl downwards as though
descending from blissful heavens
I watch as universe heals around me
flooding darkness into light
Oh soft as tulip’s tongue
love spoke where hate had sprung
amid gentle streams of verse
a hidden voice now sung
No sooner did I close my eyes
the world around me swung
Sensation takes over as I begin to float
in a pool of words just words and words

I love the world I can dream of in the darkness once I close my eyes. 🙂 Though I don’t quite know if I can remember it as vividly as you have. Nicely written. 😀

  2. Bjorn Rudberg says:

Oh I do love the sensation of floating here…. lovely… and definitely juxtaposed well to the quote…

  3. Glenn Buttkus says:

My dreams can vary, but definitely my passions do appear within them. Yes, sometimes it is words that are the focal point, writing on invisible paper, in the dust, on stucco walls, or cafe napkins, or my photography takes center stage, & incredible images appear, a kaleidoscope, cavalcade, or dream album, some of my images already taken & reviewed, others yet to be encountered. Terrific take on the prompt.

  4. Kim M. Russell says:

I love the flow of this poem, Sanaa, especially when the rhyme takes over:

    ‘Oh soft as tulip’s tongue
love spoke where hate had sprung
    amid gentle streams of verse
    a hidden voice now sung
No sooner did I close my eyes
    the world around me swung’.

It has a Shakespearean ring to it. 🙂

  5. Grace says:

I want to float on with words. This is my favorite part:

The stars swirl downwards as though
    descending from blissful heavens
I watch as universe heals around me

    Thanks for joining us Sanaa!!

You always find the most beautiful images to go with your poems.

    This is my favorite:

    a hidden voice now sung”

“I watch as universe heals around me / flooding darkness into light” this stays with me Sanaa and I also love that tulip’s tongue….gorgeous image…

Some beautiful images your words created here Sanaa; the poem is really beautiful. I always keep a notebook by my bed to scribble those words down as they appear!

Oh the bliss of floating away “in a pool of words just words and words”. Love the way this sounds. It’s a perfect accent to the overall mood.

Fabulous this hidden realm of words…..they can heal or wound….I love how you have made them heal…

‘I watch as universe heals around me
    flooding darkness into light
    Oh soft as tulip’s tongue
love spoke where hate had sprung’
