Her spirit boreal, as though blue ice;
Echo: Dice
The piteous men who paid the price.
Echo: Vice
She haunted with allure and charm;
Echo: Arm
Aghast they stood in strange alarm.
Echo: Harm
Encompassed in hues of velvet black;
Echo: Clack
Who shall now lead – afar from track
Echo: Shack
Oh penetrating, cold predator’s eyes;
Echo: Cries
Upon life that fades, flickers and dies.
Echo: Rise
She stole a kiss – blood stained lips
Echo: Grips
Beneath a penumbral lunar eclipse.
Echo: Snips
Atlast the dead awake – arise
Echo: Prize
Terror wears a thin disguise.
Echo: Guise

Oh, echo verse worked so very effectively to convey a frightening mood. And, yes, terror does wear a thin disguise. It is closer to us than we know! Boo!

This is really good, Sanaa. I’ve not heard of the echo verse so will have to look into that. I found it very effective in adding to the tone of your Vampire poem. Frighteningly good!

The painting is extra chilling of itself; been awhile since I used echo verse; I agree it is extra effective in this piece. Something about how the echo changes the word that really is a statement on communicative exchanges.

The echo was so effective in creating terror.. The short echoes turn it manacing and dark, the terror laces with lust is so very effective

Myths mirror culture realities now
still.. and interestingly still now.. now..
enough.. the rising fascination with
vampires in heart of art
mirrors science studies
almost perfect in
practice.. of declining
yes empirically declining
measurable empathy
among college age
young adults.. around
30 percent in the last
several decades.. a cold
heart is the myth for
vampires.. zombies..
and werewolves..
who deal
in fear..
pain.. and
hate.. instead
of all creativity
associated with
human LOVE..
so in other
words.. ‘Leave
it to Beaver’
dies a cold
death Alive..;)
