Untitled (soliloquy of growing passion)

Spread the love

She’s got the pace
         he’s got the rhythm
a gentle song
         a blur of light
and stage embroidered with
         thousand dreams

He is cayenne pepper
          she is dirty rice
oh always one to skip advice
         through sweltering summer
winter rain
        passion sweeps world again

Oh my gosh, this is amazing, Sanaa!

    I adore this:
    “He is cayenne pepper
    she is dirty rice”

Perfect combo … especially if you’re dancing with someone special.

I liked the rhyme sounds in the second stanza. The word “light” in the first stanza made a sonic connection with “rice” and “advice” in the second stanza tying them together for me.

That’s great, they are polar opposites and blend together in harmony. And so true as well. I think it’s worked out that way for us. I like the phrase, “He is cayenne pepper
she is dirty rice”. Beautiful word picture

There is so much movement and teasing of the senses in your Quadrille, Sanaa – I think I should have read it last night rather than first thing this morning before marking exam papers again! Pepper is prompting some hot and exciting poetry. I love the lines:
    ‘He is cayenne pepper
    she is dirty rice’.

that’s just brilliant – what an incredible image and metaphor – it certainly fits in with the theme of d’Verse and works so well with and in this piece – great pacing – I felt like I was dancing along ….

With someone dear to one’s heart, any time and every time is game to be near each other!
