Untitled (amid the flood and stars)

Spread the love

The sky tonight is a palette
pouring light I thought I’d never see
its calm penetrating the chaos
building inside both you and me

If I could cast a memory upon water
would paint the world, a lasting hue
deep where land has sown its woes, would
tend until momentous flowers have grown

A gesture like this could open floodgates

won’t you reach out and extend a hand
into the darkness come let us tread
and empty our hearts of fear and ache

The sky tonight is a palette
pouring light I thought I’d never see
its calm penetrating the chaos
building inside both you and me

How wonderful to be reminded of this larger than life flooding, in the night with silence and a friend. I wish you the power to cast the memory and find the calm.

Your poem seems to express that we hold on to fear and ache and how emptying our hearts could open floodgates.
