Untitled (a poet’s dilemma)

Tick tock tick tock. I observe as the clock
above hums the storm that brews within.
‘Pull your socks up,’ I reprimand myself.

The sky above a shade of periwinkle blue,
reminds me, day is fresh as morning dew.
‘Choices are crossroads’ I manage a smile.

Scent of apple butter and double espresso
revives from a long day’s work and ruined
hopes. ‘Remember, slow and steady, wins
the race.’

‘and writing is when words bleed on page.’

  2. This poem grows in such a small space. I like the story that spirals through out and how the narrator finds solace in making sully on the page. Thanks for posting and viva la!
