This morning I awoke longing to touch you.
Your winsome smile beguiles, writes stories
that keep me up at night.

I want to gaze at you under the autumn red
moon, sing odes to doleful lips.
I’m certain I’ve adored you since beginning
of time.

Come slowly as dawn’s promise of warmth
though there be a thousand reasons not to,
as oasis rising from a sandy wasteland, you

just you, it’s you, yes you, undoubtedly you.
